-- Yogi Bhajan
Darshan says: This is not a yoga exercise, it is a set of very powerful thoughts. A sutra is like a gem of thought, a diamond idea that can cut through anything. This has been one of my favorite teachings for the last forty years, and something that I use in daily life.
If you have ever heard the song "Age of Aquarius" from the musical Hair, then you know that the Age of Aquarius (which got into full swing by the year 2012 according to Yogi Bhajan) is an epoch of world peace, universal brotherhood, and love.
Altogether, the Five Sutras are a swiss army knife for your life: just pick out the tool you need at any particular moment and apply it.
My personal favorite sutra is number two, “There is a way through every block.” It is a surefire antidote to depression, because it always gives you hope. A situation may seem hopeless, but this sutra explains that you just need to figure out how to work through the problem, which is much less stressful than feeling that there is no way out.
Number three, “When the time is on you, start, and the pressure will be off,” is great for reducing your stress. If you are feeling stressed out about some situation, it usually is because you have not started working on that situation. As soon as you start, you are in the flow of it, and the stress goes away.
"Vibrate the Cosmos" means sounding a mantra such as Sat Naam or any of the other mantras used in Kundalini Yoga that can awaken you to your essence.
